Fleet renewal support: recycling fee waiver extended
In 2026, measures to renew the freight transport fleet will continue in Belarus.
Presidential Decree No. 180 of June 4, 2026, extended the exemption from the recycling fee for imported new trucks, tractor-trailers, trailers, and semi-trailers.
The exemption conditions are as follows:
- the vehicle must be new (no more than three years old from the date of manufacture);
- emission class: Euro 5 or higher.
This decision is aimed at creating conditions for the renewal of the Belarusian fleet with competitive rolling stock and the development of the export-oriented segment of the economy. It is estimated that approximately 65% of Belarusian trucks are in use for more than eight years, making fleet renewal critical to maintaining positions in foreign markets.
